Earlier in May, Apple Insider reported a member of Foxconn – Apple’s global supply chain partner – was negotiating to buy land use rights in India and Viet Nam to expand its production in both countries.
Taipei-listed Foxconn said that it secured a new site in Viet Nam as Apple’s biggest contractor continued to shift production away from China, reported South China Morning Post (SCMP).
Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn is reportedly in talks with the Vietnamese automaker VinFast to produce batteries and electric vehicle (EV) parts.
Foxconn expects northern Bac Ninh Province will continue providing favourable conditions and introduce investment locations where there is ample land and convenient transport infrastructure to expand its production.
